The race is sufficiently close (in fact we're behind in the pipcount) that plays which leave a bunch of blots (like 5/2, 4/1) -- often right with a large race lead -- look wrong. So I think we're taking the spare off the 8-point, regardless. Effectively that means we start with 8/6 and then decide between 6/3 and 5/2.

6/3 appears a bit more diverse, but that may be a shortsighted view. White is coming out with any 5 or 6. If it stays in our outfield we want to concentrate on hitting without concern for a homeboard blot. This looks like an exception to the "just close your eyes and slot" approach I usually take.
