Bravo, Mochy !!
This weekend in Ft. Lauderdale a single mother from New York with her nine year old son and thirteen year old daughter was in the hotel for a four day mini-vacation before a cruise. She stumbled into the playing room on Thursday with the kids -- several of us befriended her/them. Several of us started showing the kids a bit of attention teaching them the game. The British guy there, Dave (I'm sorry I don't know his last name), gave them his old board and dice. Between Neil Rosenweig (sp?), Dave, and myself, the kids learned a lot and became absolutely addicted to the game. They spent the biggest part of Saturday and Sunday in the playing room, playing with each other, watching matches, and taking pointers from various players.
Before I left I tried to arrange for them to be introduced to Phil Simborg later Sunday -- he is a great ambassador of the game, a great teacher, and great with kids. He was prepared to give them one of his free boards for kids. I had to leave, but hopefully that came off.
It is a great game, we just have to introduce it to many -- particularly kids. It will be well accepted easily.
