Backgammon summer camp for kids

You are doing many things in Japan that we hope to copy here in the US....you are a terrific example for the world. All it takes to get children playing backgammon is a person like you who is willing to take the time to supply them with boards and teach them the basics.
For very young children, the key is convincing their parents that it is a good activity, and we do this by explaining that it teaches them math, logic, and risk-taking, understanding luck, learning how to be good sports and accept defeat and victory with grace, and that it is an intellectual activity they can share with their parents and friends the rest of their life.
I am also careful to stop using the term "money game" and instead use "single-game" play to de-emphasize the gambling aspects of the game.
