Checker play vs 5pt board

Sometimes, you must play backgammon to minimize your losses. My aggressive tendency makes this difficult. I try to win games instead of accepting the likely defeat. Thus, I would be tempted to hit the five blot. However, it is simply best to play 20/14 and hope to avoid the gammon loss.
Yet, the sneaky play of 20/15 6/5 could have an advantage. With this play I would hope that my opponent would not double. If he did not double and the next set of dice were advantageous. I could be in a position to actually win. If one is willing to lose 2 games, you believe that the opponent will not cube, then perhaps the 20/15 6/5 could pay off. I doubt that it is the best bot move. But it has a gamblers touch to it. And we know that you really shouldn't gamble with backgammon moves.
