This does not seem right! Ten rounds and a clear winner, should declare the winner, it seems to me. Even if Rory loses the next match to Bill, their records will NOT be tied; Rory would be 10-1 Bill would be 9-2

Rory should still be the winner. Bill, at 9-2 would be second and Jim & Michael would get 3rd and 4th places. With only 31 players, paying out four places seems reasonable to me.

Let's see how it comes out and query the logic later. Perhaps we are not hearing why the matches should continue.

IF Bill is to play ONE round against Rory to either improve Bill's record (or not), then the outcome could be: Bill loses and is now 8-3 Jim or Michael will also be 8-3 (lets say Jim) and the Michael will be 7-4 ---THEN paying out as follows: Rory is 1st place Bill & Jim are tied for 2nd/3rd and Michael is 4th (or possilby out of the prizes entirely)
