I agree the longer matches are better.

I think Madison could easily be run with 11 point matches with clocks mandatory and with the same schedule employed this year.

It is unlikely, in my opinion, to end a Swiss tourney, as Madison was this year, with an undefeated player and one 2-loss player -- providing the potential of three subsequent matches.

The Badger Classic matches were 11 points with clocks mandatory. Both my semifinal match with Sean Garber and the final match with Richard Munitz were comparatively very long DMP matches and each were concluded in approximately two hours.
