A couple of questions re Santa Fe Tourney

1) Is there a room-rate discount for players at La Posada de Santa Fe? (I guess a better question would be: Is there a preferred link somewhere with tournament details for prospective players?)
2) Any chance that the organizers are considering a Swiss format for any of the main events?
Re #2: Everything I've read about Madison argues in favor of clocked Swiss events and against unclocked single elimination events. Why wouldn't all ABT tournaments sponsor at least one open-level Swiss event? Hell, why not make all the main flighted events Swiss? It seems to me obvious that one reason for low attendance (especially among marginal or inexperienced players) at ABT events is this: Who wants to travel all day and set aside a 3-day weekend to play in a backgammon tournament only to go lose-rebuy-lose-lose and then be left with nothing but chickenshit side events to wait around for? A Swiss format guarantees the entrant a minimum number of matches (maybe not meaningful matches, but matches) for her money. Maybe part of the problem is that such a format would cost directors the extra income from side-event entry fees (most players would be tied up in the Swiss main events), but, if this is the case, couldn't entry fees be raised accordingly to make sure the directors are made whole?
