In Response To: Proposing That We Start Public Rating and Review of Tournaments and Directors (Christian Munk-Christensen)

"What should those criteria be?"

I can think of a few, but I encourage others to help me.

(1) Was the venue attractive and was it large enough? It is not enjoyable to be in a crowded room for an entire weekend.

(2) Was the staff helpful, and friendly and courteous?

(3) One year in Charlotte I asked Jeb Horton what his biggest problem was in running a tournament. He responded quickly, "Slow play." One important criteria is this: Does the director effectively deal with the huge problems potentially created by slow players?

(4) Does the director schedule the events and manage his tournament so that players always get an adequate amount of overnight rest?

I encourage anyone and everyone to add to this list.
