I think the problem would be a poor public rating could be a death knell to a tournament without a chance for remedying the problems.

Feedback and responsible response to feedback should be an invaluable part of the continuing success of a tournament.

The Santa Fe directors last year sent out a post-tournament evaluation survey to every participant -- and I've seen several references to the results, so I know they looked at them.

Some directors are better than others, some tournaments are more successful than others. I think we should strive to help the less successful directors/tournaments improve rather than helping to kill them -- which will ultimately happen soon enough if they never improve.

Perhaps all should send out surveys to learn how they can improve their tournaments.
