Suppose someone wanted to produce something like Iancho's PR table for the 70's or 80's or even 90's. Would it be possible or is there just not enough data?

AFAIK, very few matches were recorded prior to about 1980. By the 90's, a lot of matches were being recorded. Hal Heinrich's database (which I believe he started mid-80's, but that's a rough guess) of 10,000(?) matches is a good archive.
