Speaking of clocks....

"excessive breaks and delays caused by them are not a problem in ABT champ level events."
I tend to agree with this. But what about the rest of the world? I don't think Chiva's question was necessarily motivated by his experience with abuse of breaks at ABT events. But it was definitely motivated by some recurring experience as a director. While I don't see a big up-side in the US to clocking breaks, I don't really see a down-side either. Like someone that says "I don't need a clock - I'm not a slow player". If everyone feels that they don't take too much break time, then what's the problem if it is clocked? But if it is a problem with a few individuals in the US, and with many individuals elsewhere, then it is definitely at least a good idea elsewhere. Personally, I'd like to see convergence in rules internationally - including clock rules. If this makes sense in Europe and there is no real down side in the US, then I think we should all do it for the sake of consistency. I have no problem letting the Europeans experiment with it first.
