Backgammon Development Thoughts

This is a very exciting idea. The USBGF would love to help organize this and would most likely provide significant sponsorship. I will bring this up at our next Education Committee meeting in a couple of weeks. Another idea would be for each school to have a live tourney where the top two or four players qualify for a national online tournament. In the national online tournament, matches could be monitored by USBGF volunteers to insure no player received any unfair help. Perhaps, in addition to placing in the National Collegiate Championships and being awarded nice trophies, the top four finishers would receive free entry into an ABT event's novice division, as Bill mentioned.

There are a lot of interesting and exciting possibilities.
