This seems clear to me. There's no way I don't hit, so 9/7*. After that there's only one real way the opponent can get back in the game and that's if you leave it slotted. There are too many enter and hit the slotted bar point numbers [6] or enter and hit loose in his inner board numbers [not counting, too many] where you need to enter immediately or your game goes to shambles. I pick up the blot, 9/7*/3.

As for the cube their take point here is roughly 24% with a gammon value of near nothing on an 8 cube. They still probably win 2X% (low 20s) but not enough to take. If they are bad enough in comparison to your team the take is understandable, weaker players should like 8 cubes.
