yes Gregg, that was pretty much my point ... that time of possession is usually a reflection of how well your offense has moved the ball and how well your defense has stopped the other team rapidly.

As far as the rest of the comment regarding decreasing the amount of scoring opportunities the other team has... remember I live in Boise and am a Boise state fan.. when we are ahead by 3 or 4 touchdowns.. as normal... with maybe only 10 minutes on the clock.. if we can keep the ball for an average of 4 minutes per possession that means that the other team is only going to get the ball 2 or 3 more times and means there is no way they can catch up! Maybe I'm just spoiled by the number 3 team in the nation.. *really silly grin*
