I have always been disappointed in backgammon's poor popularity. Yet is it sinful for this enthusiastic backgammon player to believe that backgammon could never become interesting television? With some changes, backgammon’s internet and live tournament popularity could achieve modest gains. However, Tournament Directors and the most popular backgammon internet sites have already worked hard to improve attendance. Thus, even modest internet or live tournament gains are doubtful. We may be stuck loving a relatively unpopular game.
