Clearing the 6-point sure looks safer (no shots next turn compared to 2, ignoring opp's 6-6). Trade that with the loss of a few G's and the loss of (even fewer?) BG's. (There may also be some long term safety issues; not sure but it feels like clearing is better there, too.)

I'd make the (immediate) safe play, assuming I saw it OTB.
