A 1980 Tournament at Lake Tahoe STARTED at 1:30 am!!!

In November 1980, there was a major tournament at the Cal/Neva Lodge, Lake Tahoe. It was supposed to start Friday night at around 8:00pm. Because of bad weather, many flights to the closest large airport (Reno) were delayed for several hours. The directors had to decide whether to start on time, and forfeit the initial matches of many well-regarded players who hadn't arrived, or delay the start of the tournament until those players finally arrived. They decided to delay the start, by a couple of hours at a time, until well after midnight. The draw began at around 1:00am, play started at 1:30am Saturday morning (first round only), and the second round started later Saturday morning, either 10am or 11am.

Does anyone else remember that tournament?
