Backgammon writing

IMO, the key to writing is getting the message across. At BG in particular, someone with all the writing skills in the world but without high backgammon knowledge+intuition is a detriment to the game.
Just about anyone can look at an RO and give some lip service for why the right play was right and why the wrong play was wrong. I've been doing that for 17 years. But how often does the explanation not fit the problem at hand?
Stick points out what you should be thinking, and in this particular analysis, what you should be thinking before, during, and even AFTER the play. Backgammon teaching is all about preparing the student to play better when in a REAL situation. Stick did that brilliantly in this problem. Could someone more expert in grammer/prose have done better? I doubt it.
