The main advantage of January for us in Santa Fe is the availability of affordable hotel space during that month. (I imagine this is true for the New Jersey tournament as well.) Hotel rooms at our venue go for close to $300 most of the year, but we can offer them at $99 for our weekend event.

If you connect your flight through Dallas or Houston, your chances of flight problems en route to New Mexico are very low. I think it's a good travel month, since airfares are really low in January.
