You did not mention several other major advantages of CLOCKS: (1) no arguments about what the roll was (dice still on the table) (2) no early rolls, since the dice are still on the table until hitting the clock (3) less distraction, since opponent cannot be shaking his dice during your play

Yes we directors favor the clocks to keep the "flow" moving at a reasonable pace. But for all the other reasons as well. ________________patrick

NOTE: if a Dice Tube was also used, no searching for a die off the table, fewer cocked dice, and easy recovery if cocked (agree their cocked and turn the tube over); and much more efficient for clocked matches -- no picking up the dice from opp's side and shaking in cup -- just turn the tube over for your roll.
