You can't win the game without scoring a 2-pt conversion at some point between now and the end of the game. So what difference does it make if you go for it immediately? There's no bonus for how long you can retain winning chances and still lose. You're just delaying the inevitable by not going for it immediately.
But lets imagine you do get the two points immediately and then score the second TD and trail by 1. Do you again go for the 2 points and the win now? Or take the EP and the tie score? My guess is that you go for the win which makes giving yourself the chance for 2 2-pt conversions and a won game correct.
