Sorry, Joe, maybe you should stick to the law books.

If the trailing team successfully executes EITHER a one-point or two-point conversion after a first touchdown, the remainder of the game, effectively, will be played in exactly the same manner. The trailer needs to get the football and score another touchdown.
If the trailing team is unsuccessful in the execution of a two point conversion attempt after a first touchdown, every element of play for the remainder of the game changes dramatically, and their chances to win the game are dramatically reduced.
I would classify this as a difference.
