Krasker's table (your last link) says that going for 2 when trailing by 8 (right before the PAT) is even a BETTER ploy than when trailing by 9. I anticipate another entirely new (and contentious) thread!
From a standpoint of logic, no. Going for it when you are trailing by 9 is basically a weakly dominant strategy whereas going for it when you are trailing by 8 can turn an otherwise-win into a loss. But it is a bigger GWC difference (partly because the chance of winning when you trail by 9 is so low).
