Interpreting Cubeless #'s

Sure, if I played position arising after opening 51 to the end I would win more gammons after spliting -- acording to the rollout-- , but half of the time game will be over before that.
Well, yes, the cubeless numbers are just - cubeless numbers. It may be true that the cubeless extra gammons never actually happen, but you still profit from them, because they are part of the reason your opponent passed all those cubes.
Imagine you were somehow able to decide to give all your cubes either when they are extremely close passes, or when they are extremely close takes. Imagine your opponent always acts correctly. Then in the first case, you would never score a gammon, while in the second, all the cubeless gammons would turn into cubeful gammons (neglecting the effect of opponents' cubes). But there would not be a difference in equity! So I am happy with what the cubeless breakdown tells me. I don't care too much if most of my cubes will be takable or not. I do care about their overall efficiency, which is why I look at cubeful equity.
That said, your question has come up here before, and it turned out that sometimes it is enlightening to know the cubeful breakdown. gnubg does provide that, to some extent, after rollouts. See this and that.
