My current top ten through today's games as of this hour.

TCU, Oregon, Boise State, Alabama, Nebraska, Auburn, Utah, Iowa, Wisconsin, Stanford.

The general off year for all the major BCS conferences make TCU and Boise State look all the better.

I will concede there are, in my opinion, no teams this year of the dominance of USC, Texas, Florida, and Alabama teams of earlier in the decade.

To answer Paul's earlier question I would presume the current lines on hypothetical matches on neutral fields -- Auburn or Alabama each by 7 over TCU or Boise State.

I think the actual margins on the field would be on the order of TCU or Boise State by 3 over Alabama and by 10 over Auburn.

What will be a shame this year would be if any second place school of any of the major BCS conferences is awarded a BCS game and TCU or Boise State, if both win out, is not -- only one of them would be guaranteed one of the 10 spots. The other major BCS disgrace would be if they once again paired TCU vs. Boise State in any BCS game other than if they were paired in the Championship game. The BCS did it last year so that no BCS conference school would have to play either of them. I can just see them hyping a 'rematch' this year to avoid them again.
