"This is true for normalized equity, but for calculation purposes the non normalized equity must be used. Normalize equity is just a display gimmick for user convenience."
Perhaps I am not understanding something. I can understand why actual cube values must be used when doing rollouts. But for doing exhaustive, calculation of equities, this does not seem necessary, as you should be able to simply compute the equity of any position as an average of the normalized equities of each of the of the best plays from that position for each dice roll. Obviously you'd have to consider proper cube decisions. So centered cube equity would be the greater of the centered-cube average and the smaller of 1.0 and twice the opponent's-cube average. But the biggest cube multiplier ever used here is 2.
It seems not much different than calculating a bearoff equity where you are not worrying about cube level, only cube position but each position recursively considered in the calculation has a lower pipcount and due to lack of contact must be closer to the end of the game.
