I Totally Completely 100% Agree With Colin

I recently played three long heads-up sessions (sixty games each) using both a clock and a baffle box. At first, I had neutral feelings about using them, but I very quickly became a convert.
It is regrettable but undeniable that a few who play in tournaments attempt to manipulate their dice. Although a baffle box does not completely eliminate the possibility of cheating (dice can still be switched in and out), using a baffle box makes it a lot more difficult for the dishonest player to cheat.
It is a very sick feeling to lose in a tournament to one whom you feel may have cheated you. Tournament backgammon would have more integrity if a player who brings his own baffle box had the right to insist it be used in all of his matches. I will encourage Chuck Bower and the USBGF rules committee to adopt this rule.
By the way, are you the Colin from London who makes a habit of crushing visiting American Giants in heads-up sessions? If I played you and lost, would you accept payment in the form of boxes of the book written by Nack and me?
