American football analogy?

I also believe that an underdog (weaker player) can perform above the bots apparent measure of ER when playing a significantly better player (especially against those stronger players who do not adapt). Some people I know fall into this category - they play more aggressive cubes against stronger opps, they pump up the cube to try and reduce the number of checker plays, especially if checker play is their weakness.
There was an OT discussion a couple weeks ago about the potential fallacy of thinking that time-of-possession innately (a priori?) affects a teams probability of winning.
I don't see how making one 0.1 error with the cube on 4 is necessarily better than making two 0.1 errors in two separate games, each with the cube on 2.
