I wasn't sure of last years table. I knew they were young, I didn't know that there was a 44-46-52 at the table. But calling 29-29-33-34-37 old is a reach.I miss spoke saying 28 an under was the age group.I don't really follow poker, just watch a little sometimes. I do believe this years table was all 28 or younger except for the grinder, who I think you said was mid 30's,The point still stands that anyone much above early 30's rarely makes the final table anymore. Certainly some will as you pointed out,a 44-46-52 3 out of 18 the rest are all young. Being 29-29 33-34-37.If my facts are a little off I truly apologize. The point I would like to make is that, games like poker and backgammon, played at a world class level are physicaly damanding.Which is felt by players of a certain age be it 50 or 55 or 60 plus. As far as the age breakdown in the World Series of poker, you would surely know better than me.I still think my point is valid,an older players reading this know of the draining effect of playing four days straight at any tournament. That we didn't quite feel 20 years ago.So giving us one event that levels the playing field isn't asking to much,I hope!
