Look at http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/138/backgammon/problem-week-84-november-15-a-920463/

Here, Bill Robertie sets a position, which will fit also in your scheme. The underdog has even only a third man back and not on the roof, the bar is made and no additional inner board point. If we fiddle with the postion, we see, how strong such a position at 4away vs. 4away is. Or would you reject a double in the original position?!

This is a position, which will improve or stay with no turnaround after a 2ply. Look, how valuable the builder on 10 is!
