"So, you are giving your opponent a lot of cube leverage. Secondly, along the same lines, your opponent can eliminate the value of your gammons with a recube."

Along those same lines though, that player cannot use a gammon threat to help with his cube power. Your comment about gammoncidal recubes has some merit but if the opponent has turned the game around and is considering doubling who is more likely to have more gammon wins at that point?
