Thanks for the diagram.

I'd split to the 22 and bring one down. I don't want to just sit on the ace point and wait patiently to lose; get the runners moving. Splitting to the 21 puts it in the sights of another checker, so the reverse split is called for.

Moving to the 8 seems inflexible.
