The odds of getting your money back on a re-entry when the highest prize you can possibly take is 2nd is very much lower than for virtually any other player, and I am sure Stick is well-aware of these odds. Stick has already won the title of the best Second Place player in the history of backgammon, so he has very little more to prove.
