Since when is judicial experience a requirement for the Supreme Court? It is a fluke of modern times that the court had consisted entirely of members that were judges prior to selection. Having 9 justices enables members with different backgrounds and perspectives. This is a good thing. Was former President William Howard Taft unqualified for selection to the court because he had zero judicial experience? He was widely considered to have been a great judge though an average president.
