In Response To: "illegal move" too broad of a rule here? (Chuck Bower)

i.e., "impossible" vs. "illegal" moves. My current ABT rules by addendum or announcement would clarify that "impossible" moves -- "those which could NEVER be legal regardless of what the dice could ever show" -- cannot be condoned and must be corrected. Examples: putting yourself on the bar, removing opponent's checker from the bar, "bearing off" opponent's checker.

Even better: junk the ABT rules now and adopt the WBA rules. They work. They're better. They ought to be -- they're based on the original ABT rules, underwent a major revision as the revised DBgF rules, and were improved again (it's my understanding) by Chiva and Steen.
