I completely agree with you, Bill, about ratings. I like the ACBL (bridge) system that gives you points for wins and for participating...that rewards people for coming and also for doing well. It's common to see 4,000 people at the Bridge Nationals, and they are all there trying to win points and to achieve status as a life master.

As for Bill Davis' views about what is happening to the game, it would take volumes for me to give you all the ways and reasons why I completely disagree with him on so many points, yet, I certainly respect him and his opinion and his right to be completely wrong.
