Using the g11 MET, Black's take point is 29%. That's a dead cube number, but this is a dead cube position. Were the cube live, Black might be able to eke out a take, but here it's a close pass.

Nope. Easy take. I think your calculations considered an initial double (which would be a pass), not a redouble.

Pass for 16% ME, Take and win for 75% ME, Take and lose for 0% ME. Taking risks 16% ME to gain 59% ME.

R/(R+G) = 16/(16+59) = 16/75 = 21%. That's the takepoint. Since Black wins 10/36 or 28%, Black should take.

Is it a redouble? D, Lose = 25% ME. ND, Lose -> 50% ME. D, Win -> 100% ME. ND, Win -> 84% ME. Redoubling risks 25% ME to gain 16%% ME.

R/(R+G) = 25/(25+16) = 25/41 = 61%. That's the doubling point. Since White wins 72%, White should double.

A 5 point match table only has 25 cells. It shouldn't be hard to memorize. Five of the cells are obvious (50% ME). The other 20 are in pairs of 2. So you only need to memorize 10 number pairs to memorize a 5 point table.

Start with a 1 point match table. There's only one cell. Everyone knows that one.

Expand to a 2 point table. Now there are four cells, but everyone already knows half the entries. You only need to memorize that 1a/2a 2a/1a is 68%/32% 32%/68%.

Expand to a 3 point table. Now there are nine cells, but you already know five of them. You only need to memorize two more pairs of numbers: 1a/3a 3a/1a is 75%/25%. 2a/3a 3a/2a is 60%/40%.

So far, pretty simple.

To expand to a 4 point table, you only need to memorize three more pairs of numbers. One pair should be easy to remember -- 2a/4a is 67% -- the other two pairs, 1a/4a and 3a/4a, perhaps not.

Having come this far, to expand to a 5 point table, you only need to memorize four more pairs. Again one pair is easy, or used to be, when 2a/5a was 75% instead of 74.3447%. I think that going over the table and seeing how equities progress should help you find ways to make the 1a/5a, 3a/5a, and 4a/5a values easier to remember.
