1) Jim, I thought this thread was over and no one has replied here in over 24 hours and yet you have to come back and try to restart a battle.

2) Almost everyone who's replied here except for Joe (who seems indifferent about it) believes that we're better off not talking politics here. OK Music is OT, football it OT, but these things are not dangerously OT like politics and especially politics that have religion involved.

3) People have very strong and different political desires and also this is a worldwide forum and people have different religious beliefs as well. It is possible to for most to discuss music and sports and most other topics than politics and religion in a civil manner. OK many can discuss politics and religion and remain civil also, but my experiences on many forums indicates that people are much more likely to fight when politics and religion are brought up. This leads to ill feelings (likely worse than the ill feelings between us) and often results in people leaving that forum, both due to disgust and to the OT noise level.

4) It's not that your Orrin Hatch wisecrack was a no-no, it that you had to chime in with your opinion that it is OK for a mosque to be built at ground zero. This is a very contentious issue today in America, both from a religious and politic standpoint. Why bring it up here? It can only start trouble and whether people agree here agree with you or not.

Hopefully I have presented this clearly enough to you and without using F-bombs.
