I don't believe there is a list of proper cube action after your second roll reply with a free drop available.

Wasn't that the whole purpose of the Bart Brooks "Free Drop" book? I never read it, but I'd expect anyone going through the trouble to make a book on the free drop would give the answer for all typical sequences where a double is given at the first legal opportunity.
