Crossevers are close to irrelevant in longish races when the average number of checkers per pip is high.

In the initial 72 to 81 pip position, White has to pass due to have those two checkers on the ace pt causing about a pip of wastage and I think the effect of the extre crossovers is only in total about a half a pip or a pip.

I look at the 72 to 81 pip race and pass instantly.

Here's why...

10%+ means 81.2 pips is borderline drop/take and clearly those checkers on the ace pt cost me more than enough to force a pass.
