I seem to recall Bill Robertie saying something like "backgammon is just as popular as it should be," but I can't find a cite -- ring any bells?

ring-a-ling-a-ling (Christmas is coming :)

I remember him saying this on two occasions. Without digging through Inside Backgammon periodicals, I'm pretty sure that is at least one of them. Robertie was reacting to the sentiment "the game's following is shrinking" all the way back then ('90's). History repeats.
