Backgammon Lessons

I kind of feel like you're making my point for me but not quite there yet. If for the sake of this discussion you are using about a 4 PR as world class level in backgammon and saying in only a couple of years a person could play at this level but couldn't at other things such as golf, tennis, go, chess, etc... then I have to wonder if that's true or not and if backgammon is indeed an 'easy' game as you put it compared to the rest.
Normally you don't see a tennis player make it in 2 years because he's been playing all his life but if you take an athlete around age 17 and put him into it could he not reach a level in two years you'd deem world class? I don't know how much you know about tennis but refer here for what one might consider world class. Before I looked at their definition of 'world class' mine was slightly lower. I would have said a 6.0 tennis player is 'world class' and think it's fair in comparison to the easy WC rating of the bots.
You know a loooooooooot about chess, what do you consider world class in chess? (~2200?) How (im)possible is this to reach in only a couple years do you think?
You can go down the line with the other sports if you want.
