Yes Levy, that's the one...

It's normally just played on 2 boards, but we extended the idea to play teams of anything between 2-5 boards.

We played strict timecontrols (5 min each on all boards, then handicapped individual players as results started to tick in, going as low as 1-2 minutes for the strongest players if they were matched a less skilled opponent). Combined with "first win", not playing other boards to the end after a mate, that gave some very interesting tactical battles, and A LOT of this were tied up to the timecontrols of the boards relatively to eachother, sometimes ending in so-called "sitzkriegs" where to players of opposing teams (different boards) let their time run waiting for eachother to play.

Anyway, my point is, that if you have played this variant, you will know the importance of gameclocks. This game simply cannot be played without clocks.

Funny thing you found that link - This weekend I got together with 3 of the boys that used to play in our childhood, and we dusted of the boards and the good old analogue clocks for some fierce battles! :-)

Thanks!
