USBGF money flows both ways

In Response To: Backgammon Books - Promoting Backgammon (Rich Munitz)

As a member of the USBGF (non-paid) education committee, I'm aware of two sinks of the organization's money: the upcoming National Collegiate Backgammon Championships which will award scholarship(s) to winner(s), and money for advertising for our freshly formed backgammon club at Indiana University (Bloomington).

I don't offhand know if the participants of the Collegiate Championships will be required to belong to the USBGF, but the local club members will not be. Next week they will be the audience of a free lecture on (their choice): pipcounting, backgammon resources, and modern openings, courtesy of the USBGF. (No wisecracks, Stick, unless you are volunteering to give the lecture. Just be thankful I won't try to discuss cube decisions in gammonish 23-point anchor games.)
