In Response To: One division only? (Phil Simborg)

I am a decent golfer, but would I pay to compete in a PGA tournament and shoot in the high 80's and get knocked out the first round? I might if they gave me 15 strokes.

I know you weren't (terribly serious) with this suggestion. The variance among amateurs is much higher than pros, and the worse they are, the higher the variance.

Create a decent sized (~50) field equally populated with pros (and their NEGATIVE handicaps) and 30-handicap players. What kind of odds would you require to bet that a pro would win?
