I made a move that no bgonline poster (other than I) would have made.

That happens to me a lot. :) Normally I either post before I read what others have to say or I don't post at all. I'm making an exception. I didn't see anyone make my play (but several others plays) and I'm hoping we can perform some kind of completeness exercise and disprove your statement above.

The back checkers are already split, doing their dual job of increasing the chances of making an advanced anchor and indirectly covering the opponent's outfield should he dare to blot there. The race is close so hitting loose on the ace runs a high risk of deteriorating on that front. I can use the builder on the 9-point; I get more in the zone.
