It's rather narcissistic to state that if I can use Program A well but I can't use Program B so well, then Program B is poorly designed.

There is a school of thought amongst a small minority of us in the software world that when a number of users say they find the software difficult and unintuitive to use, that the user interface of the software needs improvement no matter what we the developers or other users might think of it. The design goal should be that when accessing the main features of software, it should be intuitive for all, consulting manuals and tutorials should be unnecessary, and error messages should tell you what is actually wrong and how to fix it.
