At some point, stories like this start to acquire an urban-legend character. This particular parlay is unlikely enough that I am frankly skeptical that it really happened exactly as reported. I haven't independently verified your calculation of 22 orders of magnitude, but if that's correct, then it would still be a surprising event even if 10 billion people were to play 10 billion games of backgammon each. Somehow I don't think that even Stick has played that much backgammon.
