Here's one variant off the top of my head: 54: 8 20; 41: 5* 9; 32: 20*; 42: Now XGR+ has 23 9 on top by a mere .001 over 23 5*. [Left-hand position]

Change opponent's hitting roll to 43: 22 20* instead of 32: 20*, and now 23 9 is clearly right (XGR+ says by .056). [Right-hand position]
Nice pair of examples, Marty. (I changed the header to make the positions easy to find later.)
I've altered the two above positions by moving one of White's 8pt spares to her 7pt (slotting it). See below. Now what does XGR+ say? I'll bet that hitting with 42 is a bigger error in the lower left-hand position than in the upper left-hand position, and that hitting with 42 is a bigger error in the lower right-hand position than in the upper right-hand position. For anyone who finds that counterintuitive, read my second paragraph (after the first sentence) here.
