In Response To: OT N00b Poker Question on implied odds (Ian Shaw)

In my copy it's the 7 hearts 6 spades. But the implication remains the same: giant pay off when you hit because your opponent can't put you on your hand.

Harrington's further condition: "Early in a satellite tournament". But he doesn't say if it's one table or multi-table. 9 players, you have the third largest stack, the raiser-in-position has the largest stack. Two players are already short-stacked.

In a one table event I'd fold without thinking. This is a deep stack money call, not a realistic tournament situation. The putative odds are far less important than rational tournament situation hunting.
